Professional experience is part of what shapes me as a therapist, but it isn’t the whole story. Personal experience with mental health and addiction has also shaped the understanding, compassion, and straightforward approach you’ll find here.

Over the past eleven years, I’ve worked within the mental health system, much of that time with the Canadian Mental Health Association in Simcoe County, eventually serving as a Clinical Team Lead.

That work has included supporting people through grief and loss, addiction and recovery, relationship challenges, and major life transitions.

Therapy with me is a conversation. I’ll listen, but I won’t expect you to do all the talking while I sit silently on the other side of the screen.

I’ll ask questions. We’ll look at what’s happening now, the patterns that may be contributing to it, and what you’d like to be different.

Some sessions may involve practical strategies. Sometimes we’ll spend more time understanding why something keeps happening. Often it’s a bit of both.

The approach should fit the person, not the other way around.
